Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practice Physiotherapist and current registration with HPCSA for 2025/2026. No experience required after completion of community service in Physiotherapy. Knowledge requirements: must have knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulations, and policies. Knowledge in the application of clinical Physiotherapy theory, practices, and ethics. Competency requirements: communication skills, report writing skills, planning & organizational skills, networking & liaison skills, basic Physiotherapy clinical skills, research skills, analytical skills, presentation skills. Ability to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team. The following will be added advantages: experience in a tertiary academic hospital, ICU experience, post-graduate qualification and/or short courses in Physiotherapy. Computer literacy (Ms Word, Ms Excel). Effective interpersonal skills, and leadership qualities.
Duties :
-
Render effective patient centred Physiotherapy services for in- and outpatients in adherence with the scope of practice and health protocols. Carry out all delegated duties. Implement and adhere to national, provincial, institutional, and departmental policies, procedures, regulations, guidelines, and SOP’s. Work with colleagues and provide relief as and when the need arises. Work closely with interdisciplinary team members. Perform weekend and public holiday physiotherapy duties in accordance with departmental protocols. Participate in student training and supervision and participate in performance management and development (PMDS). Monitor proper utilization of allocated financial and physical resources. Participate in the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance standards such as record keeping, data collection, assist with budget control, asset management, etc. Contribute to and participate in professional development of self, colleagues, and members of the interdisciplinary team. Participate in research projects taking place in the department. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
