Requirements :

  • : Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist.Proof of current registration with SAPC for 2025.Grade 1: No experience required after registration as a Pharmacist.Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience after registration.Grade 3: Minimum of 13 years’ appropriate experience after registration knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:Sound knowledge of the Pharmacy Act, Medicines and Related Substances Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP).Understanding of Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) and the Essential Drug List.Knowledge of hospital pharmaceutical services, procurement processes, and inventory management systems.Excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Computer literacy and knowledge of RX Solution or other pharmaceutical systems.

Duties :

  • Ensure the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care in accordance with legal requirements and departmental standards.Dispense and issue medicines accurately and efficiently.Provide medication counseling and drug information to patients and healthcare professionals.Participate in clinical ward rounds, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (PTC), and Antimicrobial Stewardship activities.Manage and monitor medicine stock levels to ensure continuous availability of essential medicines.Supervise and mentor community service pharmacists, interns, and pharmacist assistants.Contribute to training, quality assurance, and medicine use evaluation programs.Uphold GPP and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
