Requirements :

• Minimum Requirements • National Diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field • 2–4 years’ experience in data centre operations or ICT infrastructure support • Hands-on knowledge of server hardware, storage (SAN/NAS), and virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V) • Familiarity with network basics (IP addressing, VLANs, cabling standards) • Experience with tools like Zabbix, SolarWinds, or similar monitoring platforms • Ability to work after-hours or on weekends for planned maintenance or emergency response • Valid driver’s license (advantageous for site visits) Preferred Certifications • CompTIA Server+, VMware VCTA, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Cisco CCNA • ITIL Foundation (or willingness to obtain) Competencies & Personal Attributes • Reliable and responsive under pressure • Team player with a commitment to public service delivery • Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills • Interest in working on Smart City and digital transformation initiatives

Duties :

• • Support daily operations and routine maintenance of MTC’s data centre environments • Assist with the deployment and monitoring of servers, virtual machines, and storage systems • Perform physical infrastructure tasks including racking, cabling, and hardware replacement • Monitor uptime, temperature, power usage, and system alerts using DCIM tools • Support backup operations, patch management, and capacity planning • Assist with upgrades, migrations, and system documentation • Ensure compliance with POPIA, ISO standards, and municipal ICT regulations • Provide second-level support for escalated issues from field teams or service desks • Liaise with vendors, ISPs, and contractors for technical resolution or maintenance tasks
