Requirements :

  • Formal tertiary qualification in Social Work. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (4 years). Registration with South African Council for Social Service Profession (SACSSP). Current registration with the Council. Registration certificate from the SACSSP. Drivers’ licence will serve as an added advantage.

Duties :

  • Render quality services to patients and families by utilizing social work theory, techniques, and models. Conduct psychosocial assessment to patients and families regarding implication of illness. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. Ensure that records of social work interventions, processes and outcomes are produced and maintained as well as compile accurate statistics. Must be able to work within teams including social work teams and the multidisciplinary teams. Must be able to plan and organize own work. Participate in the Performance Management and Development System. Participate and assist with the conducting of regular audits of social work staff. Be willing to rotate within the departments. Participate in the Continuous Professional Development activities. Effective communication skills. Ability to prepare and do presentations.
