Requirements :

BDS/BChD as well as a MChD/MDent degree in Periodontology and Oral Medicine. Proof of current registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as a specialist, with a minimum of three (3) years’ clinical experience working as a specialist and a minimum of 3 years appropriate work experience in an academic institution being responsible for: Undergraduate teaching and training, postgraduate teaching and training including postgraduate research supervision. A track record of supervision or co-supervision of postgraduate research projects. Supervisory and administrative role with regards to teaching and training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Responsible for quality assurance of teaching/training and clinical governance. A relevant publication in the field would be an added advantage. A good professional standing among peers in the field with unquestionable moral and ethical professional behaviour.
Duties :

As a Head of the Unit in OMP, the successful candidate will manage and direct the. Activities of the department including education and training of under- and post-
graduate students, service rendering to the institution including referred cases. To conduct and publish research and to supervise others in research. Report to the Head
Clinical Department (HCD), Oral Medicine and Periodontology.
