Requirements :

A recognized National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (or BTech) in Clinical Technology that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Must be registered with the HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner. A minimum of eight (8) years’ appropriate/clinical experience in Clinical Technology field, of which five (5) years must be of appropriate managerial/supervisory experience after registration with HPCSA. Proof of original registration and current registration with the HPCSA. A post-graduate qualification in Management/Public Management/Public Administration will be an added advantage. Computer literacy and associated software programs. A valid Driver’s Licence. Knowledge of Public Service legislatives, policies and procedures. Knowledge of current DoH and GDoH guidelines and Policies governing the health Sector and Clinical Technology profession/services. Knowledge of legal compliance requirements for the safe use of the equipment and OHS Act. Knowledge of HIM Policy, Ideal Hospital Realisation & Maintenance Framework, Quality Assurance programme and Strategic Planning and Management. Knowledge and experience of supply chain management processes, monitoring & evaluation framework, finance management and Human Resource matters. Computer skills, business acumen/savviness, excellent time management skills, written and verbal business skills, report writing and presentation skills. Be proactive, team-player and have the initiative in problem-solving and decision making. Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, high work ethic, and ability to work independently and in a team. Good interpersonal skills, strategic planning and leadership skills. Ability to develop the standard of the profession in all categories related.
Duties :
-
Coordinate activities and functions of all Clinical Technology categories: Cardiology, Cardiovascular Perfusion, Critical Care, Nephrology, Neurophysiology, Pulmonology and Reproductive Biology at provincial level. Ensure that professions strategic goals and objectives of the department are accomplished in accordance with established GDOH priorities and performance plans. Develop and monitor implementation of relevant policies and guidelines across all institutions and categories. Conduct training needs analysis and workshops for all the professionals. Conduct Quality Assurance assessments in various institutions to ensure compliance to safety regulations and quality control for Clinical Technology. Prepare timely reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management of other stakeholders. Conduct support visits to various facilities for guidance and service delivery monitoring. Drive innovation and integration of services across all levels of care. Foster partnership with SABS, HPCSA, SAHPRA & other relevant statutory bodies for professional development, service delivery efficiency and patient safety. Monitor the workflow/performance indicators continuously and provide assistance through use of PIDS reports. Work with other Directorates such as HRD for training related matters. Coordinate the tender processes for procurement of equipment. Perform ad-hoc duties allocated by management team. Conduct feasibility assessment for services roll-out to increase access to services. Represent the profession at internal and external management forums. Liaise with relevant stakeholders on matters related to improvement of service delivery and patient experience of care and staff development. Facilitate strategic planning, management and monitoring of the profession. Monitor compliance to statutory requirements such as scope of practice.
