Requirements :

• Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal specialty or a recognized sub-specialty. A minimum of three years’ experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist in the relevant discipline. Two years’ experience in Teaching and Research will be an added advantage. Interest in clinical research is essential.

Duties :

• Provide and or supervise clinical care of patients at a level appropriate to the service platform. Teach and examine pre-graduate students in appropriate aspects of Clinical Unit. Initiate and participate in research activities and publications in accordance with faculty plans. Manage and take care of patients within the domain of the tertiary hospital as well as at other designated hospitals. Manage and perform required administrative and academic duties in support of and coordinated with the Head of Department. The successful candidate will be required to work longer hours.
