Requirements :

• Registration with HPCSA as medical practitioner (which includes Community Service Doctors awaiting Registration with HPCSA) - Experience in anesthesia or a Diploma in Anesthesia are preferable but not essential.

Duties :

• Clinical care: - administering anesthesia and providing perioperative patient care. Keeping records and statistics of anesthetics administered - facilitating optimal running of theatre lists Training and CME: - In-service training of Community Service Doctors, interns, nursing staff, as well as medical, nursing and emergency medicine students - Attendance of and participation in academic meetings - Keeping abreast of developments in the field - Academic progression including preparing for and attempting Diploma in Anesthesia or FCA Part I.
