Requirements :

  • Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled nurse. Current registration with SANC as Enrolled Nurse and proof of current registration. A valid driver’s license is a requirement. Basic communication skills, interpersonal skills, and elementary writing skills, ability to lead a team and function as part of the team. Must be willing to work in the community.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Promote quality of basic nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the institution. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality nursing care and positive clinical outcomes. Promote quality of basic nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards for staff nurses. Perform elementary clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice. Demonstrate basic understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices Generic: Display concern for patients, promoting and advocating basic care including awareness and willingness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements and expectations – Batho Pele principles and Patient’s Right charter. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care. Demonstrate basic communication with patients, supervisors and all other clinicians. Implement infection control practices and proper waste management, Assist professional nurses with clinical procedures. Measure, interpret and record vital signs. Willing to work shifts in different areas of allocation.
