Requirements :

• Basic qualification accredited with the SANC in terms of Government notice R425(i.e. Diploma or Degree in nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council. Post Basic qualification Orthopaedic nursing science with duration of at least minimum of 1 year Accredited with SANC. A minimum of 9 years appropriate recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional nurse with the SANC in general nursing. At least 5 years of the period referred above must be appropriate experience after obtaining the 1 year post basic qualification in the relevant speciality.

Duties :

• The incumbent will identify key results areas. Manage unit so that day function is effective and accordance with the plans. Ensure that optimal holistic specialised nursing care with said standards are provided within a professional legal frame work. Supervise staff to ensure that nursing services are delivered in accordance with scientific principles of nursing care. Organize workflow and processes so that services cater for patient demand. Provide Clinical Care training of students and health Professional as assigned to the unit. Ensure quality patient care with prevention of serious Adverse events, maintain the hospital brand statement mission and vision, conduct PMDS for all staff in the unit and identity training needs willing to work shifts and assist with hospital calls and night supervision.
