Requirements :

  • Grade 10 or equivalent. Certificate of successful completion of the Pharmacist Assistant Course. Certificate of registration with the SAPC as a qualified post basic Pharmacist Assistant. Current payment of annual fees with the SA pharmacy council. Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act and Laws relating to Pharmacy. A good understanding of the Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP). Previous experience in hospital setting will be an added advantage. Good verbal, written and communication skills. Good computer literacy skills. Ability to work unassisted and as a member of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality. High level of reliability.

Duties :

  • Distribution, control, storage and issuing of medicine. Assist in the manufacturing, compounding and pre-packing of pharmaceutical products. To assist the pharmacist in dispensing and to perform Pharmacy related administrative duties. Ensure that all documentation, records and statistics are Kept up to date. Supply relevant information to medical, nursing staff and patients. Assisting with bi-annually stock take. Assist in ensuring medicine security in the Pharmacy.
