Requirements :

Diploma/Degree in Nursing in terms of R425, or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post basic qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, with duration of atleast 1 year accredited with the SANC in terms of government notice no R212 in the relevant specialty. A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with the SANC in general nursing. Atleast 1 year (of the 4 years) must be experience in Occupational health and Safety environment. A valid driver's license code B. Computer literacy will be an advantage.
Duties :

Responsible for the health and safety of all employees at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Ensuring that workers are not affected by blood borne pathogens chemical substances, work processes of the workplace. Effective utilization of human material and service resources. Participation in training research. To remain active and productive within a professional/legal framework, Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and development of self and subordinated.
