Requirements :

  • A basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse. The proof of current registration with SANC as a professional nurse will be requested from shortlisted candidates. (Less one year from experience of candidates appointed outside the Public service after complying with registration requirements). Knowledge of the nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant frame works. Good communication and report writing skills. Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team. Ability to plan, prioritize and organize workload. Will be expected to work shifts, including weekends.

Duties :

  • To provide nursing care that leads to improved health service delivery by upholding principles of Batho – Pele and 6 Ministerial Priorities. To execute duties and functions with proficiency and perform duties according to the scope of practice. Ensuring supervision and provision of basic needs of patients that is: oxygen supply, nutrition, fluid elimination and electrolyte balance and safe therapeutic environment. Ability to screen patients on health-related issues such as: TB, HIV, and any other health condition. Implement standards, practices and criteria for quality nursing. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Ensuring clinical interventions to the clients including giving prescribed medications and doing on- going observation to patients. Analyse patients’ records, implement interventions where required and keep records. Ensure proper utilization of human, material and financial resources. Carry out any relevant duties as delegated by the clinic manager, or any senior manager.
