Requirements :

Appropriate qualifications that allow registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal speciality or as in recognised Sub-Speciality. HPCSA registration as a Medical Specialist in a normal speciality or in a recognized Sub- Speciality. A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in a Normal Speciality or a recognized Sub- Speciality. Knowledge and Skills: Clinical service delivery: Scanning and reporting, management of unit. Liaison between patients and staff. Supervise junior consultants and Registrars. Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate. Exercise control over functions and personnel. Deputy HOD/ assume duties of HOD when incumbent is away. Added advantage: A completed PHD. Evidence of involvement in clinical research. Completed diploma/ certificate in special area of interest. Observers hip in areas of interest.
Duties :

Provide leadership and management in clinical, risk management and support/ auxiliary services in the following areas inpatient management of the Unit (Area 394) , general outpatient department and support. Provide Clinical government and oversight in the unit and in the CMJAH cluster. Render outreach and support services to other levels of care in the CMJAH cluster. Monitor and develop improvement plan regarding clinical output, new services and cost containment strategies. Optimally supervise and train junior personal, including specialist working in the area, Registrars and fellows. Participate in research, academic activities at undergraduate and postgraduate level as required. Participate in continuing medical education as required by the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Offer comprehensive, quality care to patients. After hours, duties will be part of the package.
