Requirements :

  • Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. A minimum of 8 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. proof of current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Post basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with the SANC. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognisable experience at management level. At least 5 years in the clinical field of HIV/Advanced HIV disease, STI,TB, EMTCT, IMCI, APC and MYCHP. Possession of post basic diploma in clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment (PHC) will be an added benefit. Good communication skills (both verbal & written), Presentation skills, good managerial and leadership skills. Good facilitation, assessor and moderation skills, knowledge of training methodologies. Knowledge of policy development and application. Computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint & outlook). Ability to manage, plan, organize and implement GP Regional Training Centre Business plan.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices and how this impacts on service delivery. Ensure that the clinical nursing practice by the nursing team (area/facility) is rendered in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Demonstrate an basic understanding of HR and financial policies and practices. Demonstrate a basic understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service. Demonstrate effective communication with supervisors, other health professionals and support services personnel and junior colleagues, including more complex report writing when required. Ability to direct a multidisciplinary team at to ensure good nursing care at area/ facility level. Work effectively and amicably, at management level, with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Able to manage own work and that of units reporting to the post, and to ensure appropriate interventions to enhance nursing services at are/ facility level. Able to developing and maintaining a nursing service environment that promotes the rights of patients, advocating and facilitating proper treatment and care and ensuring that the principles of Batho Pele are adhered to. Able to develop contacts, build and maintain a network of professional relations in order. Manage, plan, organize, implement and monitor activities pertaining to the WRDHS training unit as aligned to GP Regional Training Centre Business plan. Analyse skills audit/clinical training needs and develop an annual training plan to bridge the gap. Manage the training programme and report monthly, quarterly and annually on all trainings conducted. Implement, coordinate and support the implementation of the GP RTC Business plan. Participate in the development of the curriculum standardization and accreditation of all training programmes in order to meet the requirements set by by the NDoH. Management of human, physical and financial resources in the training unit. Liaise, participate and attend relevant GCON and Nursing Education Institutions activities. Participate in the District Training and development/selection committee activities.
