Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner (Basic Medical Degree (MBBCh) or equivalent. Current Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Must have completed the Community service year. Experience: none after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Duties :
-
The incumbent will be responsible to undergo in-service training for the performance and interpretation of the following (but not limited to) ultrasound, interventional radiology and fluoroscopy as well as producing professional reports on the said studies for patient management. In-service training will also be provided to enable the incumbent to interpret and report on multi-modality imaging studies including but not limited to computed tomography, plain x-rays and when available MRI. Supervising junior doctors (undergraduate students, interns and community service doctors as and when they request imaging studies to ensure appropriate use of ionizing radiation. Attendance of relevant administrative meetings like mortality meetings, near miss meetings and completing MEDICO Legal Documents timeously (e.g. death certificate). Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care. Reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethos. Implement and monitor adherence to National Core Standards (norms and standards). Participating in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research. Participate in multi-disciplinary team to the management of patients. Performance of practical procedures relevant to the care of patients. Ensure that administration and record keeping is done in the department. Willing to do commuted overtime rendering after hours (night, weekend and public holiday) duties to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.
