Requirements :

  • Grade 12 / NQF level 4 certificate plus National Diploma(NQF level 6) in Food Service Management. A minimum of 3 years and above experience as a supervisor in a food Service department. Computer Skills (Ms. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Good verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and excellent report writing skills.

Duties :

  • Direct control and supervise the food service department and food production staff. The planning of all menus for all diets, ordering of supplies, control of the storage, and issuing of stock. Planning of the food budget and control of the food expenditure by means of cost-effective measures and the implementation of prescribed procedures. In-service training of food service staff performance management and development systems for staff. Implementation of Legislative Framework (Acts and regulations) in relation to food service, stock control, monitoring, and managing food service activities. To liaise with the hospital dietician on nutrition. Provide Leadership to food service aid supervisors. Ensure cleanliness in the food area, and ensure effective measures are implemented. Contract employees on PMDS and conduct mid-year reviews and annual assessments. Develop a Standard Operational Plan and Implement Labour Relations Policy.
