Requirements :

• Appropriate qualification/s as Medical Specialist as a Public Health Specialist, which allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Current registration with HPCSA. Grade1: 0- 5 years’ experience as Medical Specialist. Grade 2: 5-10 years’ experience as Medical Specialist. Grade 3: 10- 15 years’ experience as Medicals Specialist. Experience working in public hospital or district health system would be an added advantage.

Duties :

• Work within the Sedibeng District Health Services and its cluster health facilities (clinics, community health centres and hospitals) as a Public Health Medicine Specialist. Support the district management team, the health programs and monitoring and evaluation sub-directorates in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, including active presentation and publication of findings. Support public health medicine programmes of the district including performing clinical work. Participate in facility-specific work-related activities which may include working overtime; Successful applicants may be eligible for joint appointment status between Gauteng Department of health and the University of the Witwatersrand and thus may have academic training, assessment, and research engagement duties
