Requirements :

MBChB, FCNP (or equivalent) or MMed degree in Nuclear Medicine. Current registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist in Nuclear Medicine in the appropriate specialty in the Category-Public /Independent practice. 3 years’ experience after qualification as a specialist. Strong record of clinical and academic expertise in Nuclear Medicine and molecular imaging; Management experience; PET, SPECT and radionuclide therapy expertise; Experience in research and in supervision, training and teaching at both under- and post-graduate levels. Publication record. Good interpersonal, leadership, administrative, Communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Duties :

Ensure effective and efficient clinical specialist level service delivery, including PET/CT; SPECT and SPECT/CT as well as radionuclide therapy, within the domain of the central hospital as well as at other cluster hospitals where required. Involvement in interdisciplinary consultations and meetings. Manage staffing, staff performance and development.
Manage and perform required administrative and academic duties in support of and coordinated with the hospital and university management. Attend and participate in administrative and management duties pertaining to the specialty, including clinical governance, academic governance meetings and other departmental/ hospital/ university administrative meetings in the relevant specialty as well as outside of the hospital and/or university. Support, teach and examine undergraduate and post-graduate students in the appropriate aspects of unit. Participate in University teaching programs and examinations as pertains to the relevant specialty. Initiate, perform and participate in research activities and publications in accordance with the School of Medicine plans. Take part in interdepartmental, national and international teaching and research collaborations. Form part of the after-hours specialist cover for the Nuclear Medicine department, to provide a 24hr clinical service.
