Requirements :

  • Appropriate qualification that allows Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dentist. Registration with HPCSA as Independent Practice and current annual registration. Grade 1: None experience after registration as Dentist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in respect of South African qualified employees. One-year relevant experience after registration as Dentist with recognized a foreign Health Professional Council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Registration with the HPCSA as a Dentist. Grade 2: Minimum of 7 years after registration as Dentist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in respect of South African qualified employees. Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience after registration as Dentist with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: Minimum of 12 years after registration as Dentist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in respect of South African qualified employees. Minimum of 13 years’ relevant experience after registration as Dentist with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Good interpretation and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy. A valid driver's license.

Duties :

  • Provide consulted service to patients in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines. Ability to deal with dental emergencies. Sound knowledge of clinical and surgical skills associated within the practice of dentistry. Communicate with members of the health care team and dental service to meet patient needs, enable co-ordination and adopt a multi-disciplinary approach. Maintain accurate and relevant health and patient records. Execute duties and functions with proficiency within the prescripts of all applicable legislation and to support the aims and objectives of the institution. Optimal utilization of resources and equipments. Provide oral and dental services anywhere in the West Rand District as allocated. Ensure optimal human resource management including maintaining discipline, motivation, performance reviews and scheduling of duties. Ensure high quality of care and good dental practice.
