Requirements :

MBCHB (or equivalent) and a master’s in medicine: Public Health Medicine/ Occupational Medicine (or equivalent). Grade 1 no experience required after registration with the HPCSA, as Medical Specialist in a normal Speciality. Grade 2: A minimum of 5 (Five) years appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal Speciality and Grade 3 : A minimum of Ten(10) years appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal Speciality. A valid code B or EB driver’s license and A postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine will be an added advantage for the Public Health Medicine Specialist. Other degrees / certificates/ diplomas will be an added advantage viz. Diploma in Health Systems Management.
Duties :
-
Participate in the development and ongoing provision of under - and postgraduate teaching. Provide support to Gauteng Department of Health are as directed by the Head of Department. Perform research in line with the Departmental and University aims. Provision of Occupational Medicine/ Public Health Medicine Specialist services to Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital. Facilitate the MMed Registrars programme. Supervision of junior staff.
