Grade 12, plus three (03) year National Diploma in ICT or Bachelor’s degree in ICT (computer science or informatics) and A+, N+ certificates. 1-3 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A valid code 8/10 driver’s license. No criminal record or any cases pending against you.
Knowledge and Skills: Department and GPG IT policies and procedures. Relevant legislation. IT case management/Database system operation. Understanding GPG and departmental business organization. IT management and administration processes. IT Principles and practices. Understanding GPG and departmental interfaces and touch points. Understanding of expectations of customers. Knowledge of Departmental Service Level Agreements with GPG (SLA's). Management information knowledge. Skills: Intranet Operation and internet utilization. Business Performance Management. Information technology management and administration. Customer Relationship Management.
Duties :
-
Provide Server Administration. Active Directory administration. Perform routine server monitoring and performance benchmarking. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, software deployment, security updates and patches. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment. Tape backup and off-site tape storage. Provide Network support and maintenance. Perform first level network operations support. Maintain departmental local area network peripherals, such as cables and printers. Maintain departmental local area network. Perform daily monitoring and control of network managed elements In accordance with established procedures. Perform testing on network managed elements. Patch management. Provide desktop support services. Installs, configures and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages. Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals, such as cables and printers. Create web documents as required and assist the department with web-related technology issues and web maintenance. Assist in training employees in the use of standard business and administrative software, including word processing. Spreadsheet and database management.
