The candidate must be in possession of a Degree in Dentistry (BChD or BDS qualification) or equivalent, must have at least 2 years’ experience as a dentist after completion of community service obligation. The candidate must be registered as a Dentist with HPCSA and have proof of current registration. Completion of Primary exams in Anatomy and Physiology will be an added advantage. Experience working in government Clinics, Community Health Centers or District hospitals will add to the candidate benefit. Participation in commuted overtime is compulsory during Registrar training.
Duties :

The Registrar will pursue a course of full time study over four years of training. Through the course of the training, the Registrar will participate in service delivery at the SMU Oral Health Centre and satellite institutions as directed by the HOD. The registrar will also be required to execute a research project as well as be involved in the training of undergraduate students. The student will register for the M Dent degree with the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and abide by rules of engagement with the university
