Requirements :

  • Grade 12 with basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e., diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse plus a post basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least 1 year accredited with SANC in terms of government Notice No R48 in the relevant specialty. A minimum of 9 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognizable experience after obtaining 1 year post basic qualification in relevant specialty (Clinical Health Assessment, Diagnosis, Treatment and Care). Computer literacy and driver’s license is essential. Knowledge of all Legislation relevant to Health Care Services.

Duties :

  • Provide optimal administration, supervision, and operational direction to staff. Steer the implementation of the professional legal framework and set standards, coordination of comprehensive optimal, holistic nursing care services within the integrated PHC setting. Maintain ethical standards. Compile the annual business plan and operational plan. Know the Human resource management policies to effectively manage Human Resources. Effective management of labour relations issues. Effectively implement HR and the financial management policies (PFMA and practices. Supervise and monitor the effective and efficient use of the allocated human and non-human resources. Adhere to the national core standard prescripts/office of the health standard. Support the efficient and effective achievement and the realization of the ideal clinic Programme. Implement and support PHC reengineering activities. Coordinate, support, and monitor the effective and efficient data management processes, according to the DHIMS policy. Steer the development, implementation and monitoring of the quality improvement plans and inclusive of the quality improvement plan/strategies for patient adverse events and patient safety incidents. Attend to, solve and manage all the complex challenges facing the facility. Be part of the Phuthuma nerve centers, Subdistrict (SPMR) and District Phuthuma (DPMR). Be available as in when the need arises including the emergency situations. Be cognizant and apply effectively and efficiently the supply chain management processes. Supervise and monitor staff performance in accordance with the performance and management and development system (PMDS). Coordinate and support training and research activities. Apply effective staff discipline. Generate, demonstrate, apply innovative activities and proactiveness. Effectively liaise with the internal partners and relevant external stake holders to promote the multisectoral approach. Be part of the clinical multidisciplinary teams to uphold the vision and the mission of the department of Health. Perform any other delegated duties by Supervisor/Manager. Deputize the Assistant Manager when the need arises.
