Requirements :

  • Grade 12 (Matric) and N2 – N3 in Mechanical or Autobody Repair. Drivers' license minimum code 8. 1- 2 years' experience in a panel beating workshop environment. Understanding of vehicle repair process and parts selection. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer literacy, including email and internet skills.

Duties :

  • Manage all inspection tasks related to panel beating: Physical inspection of vehicles. Compile an assessment report for panel beating repairs. Keep records of all assessment reports daily. Answer telephonic enquiries from merchants and client departments on authorizations to be carried out. Make phone calls to affected stakeholders on a national basis in investigating specific cases of incident repairs / damage. Receive and send emails in respect of all communication regarding accident repairs. Give support to the Communications Unit with regards to their clients' concerns on vehicle assessments. Ensure that policies related to inspection of panel beating are adhered to: Keep record of policies and systems then refer to them whenever decisions must be taken in respect of assessments. Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports concerning all inspections of panel beating and towing to the SAO - Panel Beating and Mechanical: Keep files for all vehicles that have been assessed during the month to have a ready record for monthly reports. Files should include pictures taken of all the work assessed during the month. Carry out any other task as delegated by the Assistant Director - Panel Beating Mechanical: Depending on the nature of the instructions from the SAO: Panel beating.
