Grade 12/equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic). Current Registration with the South African Council (SAPC) as Post Basic Assistant. Proof of payment of current annual registration fees. computer literacy. Basic knowledge of good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical processes e.g., weighing, mixing. Former and current Interns / EPWPs of Sedibeng District, Employees of Gauteng Health will be added advantage
Duties :

The incumbent of the post will work under the direct/indirect supervision of a pharmacist within the scope of the following duties. Receive, read, and check the prescription/order for legality, authenticity, and validity. Prepare labels. Prepare and pack pharmacy products. Complete and maintain documentation. Distribute and/or issue pharmacy products. Identify and report excessive drug usage and deviations. Order of stock. Receive stock. The issuing and dispatch of stock. The bulk compounding of stock by SOPs. The pre-packing of stock by SOP’s. Take part in the Gauteng turnover strategy, PHC Reengineering, and Establishment of the Sub-District. Address Pharmaco-vigilance. Understanding of Stock Visibility System, SVS, and assisting with CCMDD at facilities. Awareness of the need for a continuous supply of medication. Record keeping. DSM-relevant aspects e.g., expiry dates. Product names. Use of master batch documents. Collect, organize, and analyze information

Only shortlisted candidates will be required/requested to submit certified copies of qualifications, service certificates, and other relevant documents on or before the interview and candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) – Verification (Reference checks- Provide at least 3 of which one must be immediate supervisor, the Department shall reserve the right to conduct verification beyond names provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information preceding the statement above will result in disqualifying the candidate.
