Requirements :

  • Basic R425 qualification in nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as professional nurse. A minimum of 9 years’ appropriate experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC. At least 5 years of period referred above should be appropriate/recognized experience after obtaining the 1-year post basic diploma in Clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment accredited with SANC. (PHC) and Advanced Midwifery. (General) A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional nurse with SANC in general nursing. Applicant must be computer literate (Ms word, Ms excel, PowerPoint and outlook. Excellent report writing skills. Must have a valid driver’s license. A qualification in Health Services Management / Nursing Administration from a recognised institution will be an added advantage.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices and how these impacts on services delivery. Ensure that the clinical nursing practice by the nursing team (area/facility) is rendered in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Ensure effective Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of District Health Services. Provide support towards universal coverage through implementation of NHI. Facilitate implementation of primary health care reengineering and improve health facility planning by implementing norms and standards. Support Strategies for implementation of disease prevention and health promotion thus reducing the disease burden. Improve financial management by ensuring proper budgeting, supply-chain management, demand planning and compliance to contract management. Improve human resource for health by ensuring adequate staffing utilizing the WISN process, training, coaching, mentoring and accountability measures.
