Senior Certificate (Grade 12). Bachelor of Audiology or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Afrcia (HPCSA) as an Independent Audiologist. Current HPCSA registration as an Independent Audiologist. Knowledge and skills in: Adult and paediatric hearing screening. Diagnostic audiological assessments for adults and paediatrics. Hearing Aid evaluations and fittings. Electrophysiology assessments (ABR, ASSR, OAEs). Vestibular and site-of-lesion assessments. Aural rehabilitation. Appropriate clinical experience in a hospital setting will be advantageous.
Duties :
-
Provide adult and paediatric audiological services in accordance with professional standards and best practice guidelines. Conduct hearing screening, diagnostic audiology, hearing aid services, vestibular assessment and electrophysiological assessments. Participate in multidisciplinary team activities and patient management. Supervise students and community services therapists, where applicable. Maintain clinical equipment, perform biological checks and report faults. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental projects and accreditation activities. Adhere to infection prevention and control measures.
