Requirements :

• Qualification in Speech Therapy or Speech Therapy & Audiology, completion of Community service. Current independent practice registration with HPCSA for 2026/2027. Competencies: Knowledge and skills in Early Communication Intervention. Knowledge and skills in individual therapy, family-focused intervention and facilitation of support groups. Preference will be given to candidates with additional certificate of post-graduate training in Auditory Verbal Therapy and to those who have experience in providing aural (re)habitation to children with hearing aids and cochlear implants. Ability work in a team, plan, organize and coordinate clinical service. Ability to engage in solution-based problem solving. Display empathy for patients, promote advocacy and facilitate holistic treatment. Applicants should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance as an inherent job requirement.

Duties :

• To provide a complete package of care to children, teenagers and adults with hearing loss, including assessment of communication and listening; counselling, creation of joint intervention goals with the family; assisting in audiological management of these patients; provision of individual and group therapy; facilitation of support groups; report-writing, teacher training. Provision of intervention services in accordance with SACIG cochlear quality standards, best practice guidelines and engage in clinical research. To work within a multidisciplinary team within professional boundaries. To engage in mentoring and audits. To comply with Performance Management processes. To participate in departmental teambuilding and projects. To adhere to infection control procedures and assist with maintaining accreditation requirements. To participate
