Requirements :

• Basic nursing qualification with SANC registration which is a diploma /degree in nursing. Post basic qualification Speciality in advanced midwifery and neonatal nursing science/child nursing. Minimum of 9 years appropriate recognisable experience in nursing after registration as professional nurse with SANC registration. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate experience after obtaining the one year post basic qualifications in the relevant speciality (advanced midwifery and neonatal nursing science/child nursing). Diploma or degree in nursing administration registered with SANC is a requirement. Current registration with SANC. Computer literacy.

Duties :

• Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical practice and how this impact on service delivery. Incumbent will be responsible for supervision and management of Neonatal intensive care unit. Adherence to the principles of nursing practise according to the scope of practice, all quality assurance standards as well as set rules and standards of nursing in his/her area. Promotion of professionalism and leading by example at all times. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the Office of the Health Standard Compliance. Co-ordination of activities of other health team members. Will be part of the hospital management team. Demonstration basic understanding of Human resource and financial policies.
