An appropriate Degree in Dietetics. Completed Community Service year as a Dietitian. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South African (HPCSA) as a Dietitian with Independent Practitioner status. Current (2026/2027) HPCSA registration. A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience after registration with HPCSA as an independent dietitian. Knowledge requirements: Must have knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulations, and policies. Knowledge in the application of Clinical Dietetics theory, practices, and ethics. Knowledge and application of PFMA, Ideal Clinic, and other relevant policies, protocols, and guidelines. Knowledge of financial and Human resources management. Skills: Organizing skills, analytical thinking. Be able to work efficiently and well under pressure with a high patient load; Good Communication skills. Report writing skills, planning & organizational skills and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care. Computer literacy is essential. Must be proactive, innovative and an independent team leader.
Duties :

Provide overall management, supervision, and control of dietetics unit to ensure smooth running of service delivery and optimal quality of services. To provide optimum nutritional care to in and outpatients. To perform therapeutic management duties. Implement National and Provincial strategies and policies. To ensure and monitor that nutrition care records of assessment, treatment and progress are maintained in accordance with service standards. To review, update and approve SOPs, policies, protocols, therapeutic diets for the unit. Compiling and monitoring implementation of operational plan. To co-ordinate clinical nutrition and food service management. Completion of monthly reports, statistics and all relevant administrative duties. To implement quality assurance measures and QIP for improvement. Application of Batho Pele principles. Liaising with all relevant clinical and non-clinical departments. Audit and analyze standard results to improve quality of services. To participate and encourage training and marketing of the dietetic services. To implement and manage projects as per departmental operational plan. To optimally and efficiently manage available resources (staff/ facilities/equipment/supply chain/financial). Knowledge and implementation of PMDS; Attendance of internal and external stakeholder meetings. Perform duties as delegated by the Manager.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
