Requirements :

Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Degree/diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. An additional qualification registered with SANC according to Regulation R212 in Health Services Management/Nursing Administration (degree or diploma). A minimum of seven (7) years appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Exposure
working in HIV/AIDS and TB programmes, NIMART training (Nurse Initiated Management of ART) or Vertical Mother to child training programme (VTP) will be added advantage. A qualification/certificate in TB, NIMART and VTP. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council for 2026
COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Competencies: leadership, ward management/ward administration, planning, organizing, co-ordination, and communication skills. Ability to take charge and make appropriate independent decisions. Display empathy for patients, promote advocacy and facilitate holistic treatment and care. Knowledge of administrative policies and guidelines.
Duties :

Ensure the provision of comprehensive effective clinical governance through quality improvement processes implementation. Monitor and evaluate the performance of HAST unit in line with public health indicators. Analyse health policies and programs with a view to develop customized implementation strategies to guide the health care service providers towards complying with stated norms and standards. Ensure the provision of comprehensive HAST services including HIV counselling and testing (HTS), initiation and management of ART (NIMART), Management of TB and sexually transmitted infections. Implement VTP programs and Prep Services. Ensure maintenance of accurate patients records and HAST statistics. Provide contextual planning, monitoring and evaluation. Facilitate and advocate for the required resources for service delivery including staff development. Ensure cost effective and appropriate use of resources. Ensure appropriate implementation of Batho Pele Principles. Management and support education, service training, and practice development initiatives in the facility, professional growth, ethical standards and participation in training research. Oversee discipline and grievance matters including monitoring and managing absenteeism. Implement consequence management for non-compliance.
