Requirements :

• MBBCHB/ MBCHB Degree, FCORL qualification and MMED (ENT). Current registration certificate with the HPCSA as an independent Medical Specialist in Otolaryngology. Grade 1: No experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist. Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA. Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA. Inherent requirements of the job: good leadership skills, excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and good interpersonal skills. Be able to work independently and under pressure. Incumbent must demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures that govern the Public Service. Draft operational plans and Standard Operating Procedures in line with the legislative framework. Demonstrate computer literacy in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to compile presentations and draft professional reports.

Duties :

• Provide high-quality, cost-effective services in line with the Batho-Pele Principles. Ensure that performance targets for ENT surgeries at Tambo Memorial Hospital are met in accordance with the treatment time guarantee system. Assist with the training and guidance of Medical Interns, Medical Officers and other staff categories. Maintain accurate and appropriate health records in accordance with the above. Develop skills in the department regarding research, instruction and promote CME (Continuous Medical Education) through tutorials, M&M, etc. Perform administrative roles, stock control and management in line with SCM prescripts and the PFMA.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
