Requirements :

  • Basic R425 (i.e., diploma/ degree in nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Current registration with SANC. MDR Management certificate will be an added advantage. Experience in MDR TB & TB / HIV programs is required. Computer Literacy. Valid Driver’s license. A qualification in Health Services Management / Nursing Administration from a recognised institution will be an added advantage.

Duties :

  • Responsible for the District Drug Resistant TB Programme. Improving DR TB case detection through the Fast approach and other strategies, including linkage to care, and support the Decentralized sites for DR TB treatment initiations. Implementation of the National TB Control Guidelines, Policies, and TB/HIV strategies in all the facilities. Monitor and structurally support all the DR TB reporting units in the district. Plan and Organize the District Quarterly Clinical Committee meetings. Ensure good working relations with all programs in the district, as well as relevant stakeholders for effective management of the TB Programme. Ensure integrated Health Information Systems and EDR Web. Coordinate monthly and quarterly DR TB reports, verify, and analyze the data prior submission of the reports to the District and Provincial DR TB Directorate in line with the timelines.
