Requirements :

  • Grade 12 with bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Speech and Audiology/ Audiology/ Speech Therapy/ Podiatry/ Optometry degree.Registration with HPCSA as an independent Practitioner Proof of current annual registration with HPCSA. Three ( 03) years of working experience in the Department of Health as a clinician after Community services or as Independent Practitioner Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Leadership or Managerial experience. Computer literacy and drivers license is essential

Duties :

  • Develop and participate in the compilation of the operational plan for the therapeutic services unit. Engage in procurement inventory and maintenance activities of each professional’s equipment within the unit. Conduct Support visits to all facilities where Therapeutic services are provided by the Unit. Plan, implement and evaluate health promotion and prevention activities in accordance with health calenda, primary health care obligations and liase with health promotion Unit. Implement quality assurance and Ideal clinic policies and develop quality improvements plans (QIP) for the therapeutic services unit. Liaise with other stakeholders within the Ekurhuleni Health District and out of Health. Ensure that there is adherence to legislatures, policies and guidelines within the Therapeutic Services. Participate in research projects and meetings in the district. Communicate effectively with the PHC Managers, Therapeutics Unit, Sub-district Managers and Professional coordinators. Ensure that allocated staff participate in education and training programs for continuous professional development and quality services delivery Participation in recruitment processes Ensure compliance with Performance management development systems Manage conflicts and disciplinary issues of the unit Ensure compliance with DHMIS policy and timeous submission of data according to the data flow policy. Compilation of monthly reports for the Unit, District and the Provincial office in line with Corporate Identity. Ability to solve problems and find solutions where there are challenges. Ability to work under pressure
