Requirements :

  • Grade 12/National Senior Certificate. A basic qualification accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of government notice R.425, or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. Post-basic qualification (R.212 or R.48) or Postgraduate Diploma in any (R.635) programmes (Postgraduate Diploma in Adult Critical Care Nursing, Emergency Nursing, Midwifery, Nephrology Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing, Oncology and Palliative Nursing, Orthopaedic Nursing, Perioperative Nursing, and Primary Care Nursing) registered with SANC. Diploma/degree in Nursing Education. Diploma/degree in Nursing Administration and a Master’s degree in nursing or public health will be an added advantage. Quality assurance certificate or experience will be an added advantage. Proof of current registration with SANC. A certificate in Assessor and Moderator will be an added advantage. Good communication, supervisory, report-writing, and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team and under pressure. Computer literacy/certificate (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A valid driver’s license. PND1: minimum of 4 years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. PND2: minimum of 14 years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur, with at least 10 years of that period in Nursing Education.

Duties :

  • Coordinate the activities of Quality Assurance (QA); organize and participate in quality assurance audits; implement continuous QA improvement programs focusing on academic standards; implement complaints, compliments, and suggestion procedures to national core standards. Develop, coordinate, and implement the plan to correct the gaps or challenges identified during audits; support the college mission to promote the image and standards of the institution. Evaluate the institution and institutional processes to meet the accreditation criteria for SANC and CHE. Participate in curriculum development, review, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
