Requirements :

Grade 12 with Bachelor degree in dietetics . Registration with the Health Professional Council of Southern African as a Dietician post community services, proof of annual registration renewal. Knowledge and experience in nutrition and implementation of clinical and community-based nutrition part of INP. Comprehensive understanding of policies and legislation relevant to nutrition (local, national and international). Good communication skills (verbal and written), computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, excel, power point etc.), good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team, in changing environment and under pressure. Good financial management skills and knowledge of PFMA. A valid driver’s license is essential.
Duties :

Implementation of the INP .Patient management in the allocated PHC facilities (Disease specific nutrition support, treatment and counselling, e.g. Hypertension etc.)Maternal nutrition focusing on pregnant and breastfeeding women. Implement MBFI strategy in the allocated PHC facilities. Infant and young child feeding (child nutrition from birth to 5 years).Micronutrient and macronutrient control (Vitamin A, deworming and food fortification).Youth and adolescent nutrition (school health interventions).Nutrition education, promotion and advocacy (campaigns and health talks).Facilitate and conduct nutrition related campaigns and support other programmes campaigns. Community based nutrition interventions (Old Age Homes).Nutritional supplements stock management and reporting accordingly. Monitoring nutrition indicators and conduct audits (e.g. RTHB) in the allocated PHC facilities. Training staff on nutrition-related interventions. Conduct Dietetics clinical audits (self and peer).Implement, monitor and evaluate nutrition programme according to the prescribed policies, protocols and guidelines. Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports and submit them on time. Any other duties assigned by the District Nutrition Manager
