A recognized three or four-year qualification, which includes professional teacher education plus 5 years’ experience in the educational field. Must be registered with SACE. Hands on experience and knowledge in teacher development and curriculum development policy and practice. A sound knowledge of NQF, CAPS, RNCS & NCS and other related legislative framework. An understanding of transformation issues and capacity building processes in education. Ability to work independently as well as in a team and under pressure. Good written and verbal communication skills. A qualification in the identified phase will be an added advantage. Valid Driver’s License.
Duties :
-
To monitor and support School-Based Support Teams (SBST) on the implementation of the Integrated School Health Policy (ISHP), as well as the Curriculum Support, Teaching and Learning (CSTL) Framework and other related school health promotion programmes; Provide professional leadership through the implementation of systems and structures that allow for effective management and monitoring of school health programmes. These will include the following: Conduct regular on-site support visits to schools; facilitate access for Integrated School Health Teams to conduct screening and immunization; respond to communicable outbreaks; coordinate school based substance abuse prevention/education programmes; represent the district in relevant forums; Coordinate and manage district priorities
and projects; Ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources and information services; work collaboratively with stakeholders to improve learner performance; support partnerships that enhance a healthy lifestyle and positive values. Establish clear channels of communication by liasing with schools; ensure effective planning; implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and processes; Conduct analysis of data collected in order to inform and improve teaching and learning; Facilitate and arrange workshops and training sessions on health programmes. Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly reports based on school and District activities.
