Requirements :

• An appropriate minimum qualification, MBChB/MBBCh, allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner. Proof of current registration with HPCSA (2024/2025). Grade 1 to 3: One must have completed community service, Minimum 1-year general surgical experience. Be able to work commuted overtime to provide continuous, uninterrupted care of patients.

Duties :

• The successful candidate is expected to provide evidence-based quality patient care, including pre-operative, operative and post-operative care for surgical patients. Educate and train interns and community medical officers on the surgical team. Attend relevant administrative meetings, such as morbidity and mortality meetings and training in the hospital. Complete Medico-legal documentation timeously (e.g. death certificate). Ensure that administration and record keeping are done in the department.
