Requirements :

  • Bsc . Dietetics or B.Nutrition. Interested candidate should be in a position of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner and proof of current registration with HPCSA. No experience is required after completion of community service Dietetics. Other Skills Sound knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulation, and policies. Knowledge in Dietetics clinical theory practices an ethics. Ability to communicate effectively, computer literacy, report writing skills etc. Actively form part of interdisciplinary team and work independently. Be service oriented and attend to detail. Highly motivated and enthusiastic to contribute to Dietetic service

Duties :

  • Render effective evidence based nutritional care to patients within the scope of practice and protocols. Adhere and implement national, provincial, institutional, and sectional policies, regulations, guidelines and standard operating procedures. Implement stock management duties and manage other physical resources. Implement Quality Assurance. Contribute and participate in training and education of other staff categories and allocated students. Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Market and promote dietetics services and encourage research. Assist with coordination of clinical nutrition food service management. To contribute towards the development and implementation of departmental strategies, financial and operational plans. Perform administrative functions, collect, and submit statistics, carry out all delegated duties and provide relief as and when the need arises. Participate in Performance Management and Development System (PMDS)

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
