Requirements :

• Degree in Physiotherapy, registration with HPCSA as an independent practitioner physiotherapist and annual proof of registration with HPCSA. Minimum 3 years of experience (excluding community service). Computer literacy, knowledge in the public service legislations, policies and procedures. Good written and communication skills. Knowledge of budget planning as well as the Public Financial Management Act.

Duties :

• Manage, plan, coordinate and implement the physiotherapy services at Far East Rand hospital and manage own patient load. Provide leadership within the physiotherapy department. Coordinate and attend all relevant meetings effectively, taking on a leadership role. Monitor, motivate and procure equipment and resources. Supervise and mentor staff in the department. Monitor proper utilisation of both human and physical resources. Implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and PMDS processes in the institution. Knowledge and competencies: Communication skills, report writing skills, decision-making skills, organisational skills, expert clinical physiotherapy skills, research skills, analytical skills, presentation skills, human resource and financial management skills, computer literacy skills including Microsoft office. Added advantages – ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Requires a good understanding of the public health system. Effective interpersonal skills, strategic planning, skills and leadership qualities.
