Requirements :

  • Basic R425 (i.e. diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. Proof of current registration with SANC. Applicant must be in possession of a valid driver’s license. Duties :

  • Perform clinical community mental health services in the district in accordance with scope of practice and nursing standards determined by the district. Provide support and training to primary health care staff to ensure integration of primary psychiatric and mental health care in primary health care services. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team. Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with other key stakeholders (inter-professional and intersectoral). Participate in mental health promotion and mental illness prevention activities. Maintain professional, ethical standards and self-development. Display a concern for patients, promoting, advocating proper treatment and care, and show willingness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements and expectations.
