Requirements :

Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist (independent practice). (Proof of registration must be attached). Appropriate work experience of a minimum of 05 years post community service. Good report writing skills, and the ability to communicate with children and adults. Good leadership skills. Managerial experience will be an added advantage. A broad experience of working in a psychiatric setting is required. The candidate must be abreast of the Mental Health Care Act and other legislations pertaining to the field, with an additional knowledge of professional ethics. Computer literacy (MS word, excel and power-point).
Duties :
-
Perform clinical, academic, and administrative duties as required by the service delivery needs of the department. Perform service delivery for both adults and children in-patients, and out-patients as a Clinical Psychologist. Supervise clinical psychology staff and oversee the smooth running of the psychology section. Participate in various multidisciplinary and management forums. Represent the unit in different committees of the hospital.
