Requirements :

  • MBChB qualification. A valid registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist: Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Candidate must have obtained a FCOG (SA) qualification with or without MMed in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Duties :

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality and cost-effective Obstetrics & Gynaecology clinical services at Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital. This role includes providing full-time clinical services, including after-hours coverage (weekdays, weekends, and public holidays). Manage and provide care in Medical Outpatients on assigned days and in the specialist clinic as scheduled. Review discharge summaries and oversee patient management within the clinical service group. Perform administrative tasks related to student training and development within clinical service group. Perform administrative tasks related to patient management and address complaints that may occur within own clinical service group. Ensure that patients and doctors in clinical service group use and upload the electronic databases for research purposes. The successful candidate will be responsible for training of undergraduate and post-graduate students. Develop own research interest and publish appropriately. Support allocated postgraduate with research projects. Supervise allocated postgraduate students with research projects. Assist with duty lists and staff allocation in the department. Participation in the Obstetric and Gynaecology academic program in the University of Pretoria. Ensure proper and accurate record keeping as legally and ethically required. Reporting to the hospital Medical Manager on service delivery, clinical audits and where necessary quality improvement plans.
