A recognised National diploma, B Tech degree or BHSc degree in Clinical Technology in Neurophysiology. Current registration with HPCSA for 2024/2025 as a Clinical Technologist in Neurophysiology. A minimum of eight [8] years’ appropriate experience at Clinical Technologist in neurophysiology practice. At least 5 years of the experiences must be of Chief Clinical Technologist in neurophysiology. Knowledge of and adherence to relevant legislation. Candidate must be competent in all neurophysiological procedures.
Competencies/ Knowledge/ Skills: Knowledge and experience of supply chain processes, finance and Human Resource operational systems. Good interpersonal skill, strategic planning and has leadership skill. Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, ability to work independently to achieve goals of the institution [CHBAH]. Computer skill and has time management skill, excellent report writing skill and has a good understanding and use of conflict resolution strategy.
Duties :

Provision of Clinical service in compliance with policies, procedures and standard as set out by the institution, provincial and national authorities. Coordinate all operational activities and programs of Clinical technologists and EEG assistants in the department [Neurology]. Departmental staff administration and management duty. Coordinate training of Clinical Technology students. Maintenance and procurement of departmental equipment’s. Coordination of staff training in various aspects of neurophysiological care. Check equipment’s regularly to comply with safety requirements. Promote and ensure staff punctuality, attendance and accountability in the unit. To participate and supervise clinical research projects of Clinical Technologist students and departmental research projects. Participate in all provincial activities organized by Department of Health and private sector [Medical equipment companies]. Monitor compliance among staff in the unit.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
