: Grade 12, Bachelor of Social Work, Current registration with SACSSP. 7 years appropriate experience as a social worker after registration with SACSSP. Experience in health care setting will be an added advantage. Skills: Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft skills. Understanding of social work values and principles. Presentation skills. Diversity management. Teamwork and collaboration. Supervision skills and knowledge of social work policies, legislation, legal and ethical practices. Knowledge and understanding of more complex and advance human behavior and social systems.
Duties :
-
Must ensure that supervisees intervene effectively at points where people interact with their environment to promote social wellbeing. Assist supervisees to provide social work services towards protecting people who are vulnerable and at risk. Monitor, evaluate and assess the effectiveness of social work intervention and give recommendations. Must demonstrate an understanding, be able to interpret, apply, provide guidance on social work policies, legislation and related legal and ethical practices. Ensure that subordinates are trained and developed to be able to deliver work of the required standard efficiently and effectively through the utilisation of resources and knowledge management. This would include providing mentorship and guidance to subordinates to assist them to integrate theory and practice, and to develop appropriated skills. Establish, implement, and maintain efficient and effective communication arrangements in the unit. Ensure that subordinates maintain their professional registration as required. Participate and develop strategic, operational, and annual performance plan for the social work unit
