Requirements :

• A basic R425 qualification, Diploma/ Degree in nursing, or equivalent qualification that allows current registration with SANC (2024) as a professional nurse. Current registration with SANC. A post-basic qualification with a duration of at least one year accredited with SANC in Theatre Specialty. A minimum of 4 years of appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with SANC in general nursing.

Duties :

• Perform both clinical and administrative duties as required as per SANC requested. Provide effective and quality patient care and provide a safe therapeutic environment that allows for the practice of safe nursing care as laid by the nursing act, occupational health and safety act and all other applicable prescripts. Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other health professionals and junior colleagues including complex report writing as required. Display a concern for patients, promoting, advocating and facilitating proper treatment and care ensuring that the unit adheres to the principals of Batho Pele. Develop and implement quality assurance program, policies, operational plan, standard operating procedures and guidelines for the unit. Improve quality care through reduction of patient’s complaints and waiting time. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards determined by the institution and other regulating bodies. Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Gauteng Department of Health and Wellness. Relieve in other wards when necessary. Must be willing to workday and night shifts.
