Appropriate qualifications that allow registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist as Gastroenterology Subspecialist in Paediatrics.Current registration with HPCSA as a Paediatric Gastroenterologist for April 2024/ March 2025. [Grade 1- No experience after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a recognized Sub-Specialty, Grade 2- A minimum of 5 years and above appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA in a recognized Sub-Specialty and Grade 3- A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a recognized Sub-Specialty].
Competencies/ Knowledge/ Skills: Good leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, conflict resolution and good people skills. The successful candidate must be adaptable, disciplined, and self-confident. The candidate must be able to work independently and under pressure and beyond normal working hours and work with diverse teams. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Aptitude for increasing the "footprint" of Paediatric Gastroenterology services across the CHBAH cluster. Clinical skillset to manage high volume patient numbers, have clinical experience to deliver optimal care to paediatric patients as determined by the needs of the Hospital and/ or Department of Paediatrics at CHBAH.
Duties :

Supervising the management of and managing paediatric patients, and coordinate any services required for patient care, especially those with problems related to gastroenterology/ hepatology. To provide clinical care/ services in the Department of Paediatrics. To assist in providing clinical services in general paediatrics as determined by the Department of Paediatrics. To participate and assist in teaching/ training programme of both undergraduates and postgraduates. To conduct clinical research/ audits and /or participate in the research program in the Division of Gastroenterology / Department of Paediatrics, including supervising MMed students. Attend meetings and training as approved by Head of Unit arid/or Head of Department. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (contracting, quarterly or semester reviews and final assessment).

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
