Requirements :

• PND I A Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate. A Basic qualification accredited with South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of government notice R.425 or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing). An advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing Education. Post-Basic Qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Theatre Nursing (R.212) registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC). Master’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery. Applicants who have registered for Master’s Degree in Nursing or Midwifery are in the data analysis stage of the research may be considered. Proof of current registration with SANC. A minimum of four (04) years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/ Accoucheur with SANC. PND II A minimum of fourteen (14) years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a professional nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur, at least ten (10) years of the period must be appropriate experience in Nursing Education. A certificate/proof of registration in Assessor and Moderator. Good communication, supervisory, report writing and presentation skills. Post Basic Qualification or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Theatre Nursing registered with SANC. Master’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery. Applicants who have registered for Master’s Degree in Nursing or Midwifery are in the data analysis stage of the research may be considered. Ability to work in a team and under pressure. Computer literacy (MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A valid driver’s licence.

Duties :

• Facilitate the provision of Education and Training of student nurses in both clinical and theory. Guide and support student nurses effectively. Exercise control over student nurses. Implement assessment strategies to determine student’s competency. Support vision and mission of the college through participation in meetings, committees and college activities. Promote the image of the college. Participate in scholarly research and community engagement activities at the college. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review.
