Requirements :

• MMed or FCP qualification in Paediatrics. Proof of registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA). The candidate must be interested in working in paediatric pulmonology and paediatric intensive care. The candidate must possess the following skills: problem-solving and firm decision-making skills, strong leadership, sound communication and the ability to resolve conflict. Continuous education and evaluation in the clinical setting of Paediatrics is essential. Advanced computer skills to apply in patient care and management.

Duties :

• The successful candidate will be expected to work in the Paediatric Pulmonology and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. Comprehensive patient management in a tertiary care paediatric intensive care facility will be provided, and continuation of care in the primary and secondary healthcare sector will be ensured. The candidate will supervise and manage the medical staff. Administration, ICD 10 coding, and record keeping will be critical components. Academic, M&M, and hospital-related meetings should be attended.
